Schwinn Intercept Helmet
I am looking for a helmet (I know, why in the world I'm riding without one right now is beyond me. I know it's stupid) and saw a Schwinn Intercept helmet that seemed to get good reviews while being reasonably priced.
Is this a good helmet? And can you offer any suggestions as far as a helmet goes?

I hadn't heard of this one. Did a search, only available at walmart and amazon, and $16.96

If its any good, its at the dead last bottom category. Places I ever go to look for helmets start at like $30 or so and go up and up. It also looks like this is a 'one size fits all'. Why did they stop making them in 'sizes'? I dunno about this one, might be ok. I suppose its safe.

I don’t know what size head you have, (mine is pretty big; size wise not ego) but if you take some of the removable padding out, or rearrange it, the helmet will fit a fairly large range of head sizes.
I really should replace mine though; I forgot last summer and left it in my jeep for about a week during quite a hot spell. The outer plastic shell now has a very unique wavy design around the bottom of it, but the inner Styrofoam doesn’t seem to have been affected at all, but I’m sure it didn’t help it any.

The way I choose a new helmet- is to find a shop with a good range of models- and start at below the price I am prepared to go to. Then go up on price (And hopefully Quality) till I find one that fits and is comfortable. I still have a helmet a friend bought in the shed because it was cheap. After wearing it twice- He gave it to me as a spare to give away to a rider that doesn't have one. Still trying to find someone that likes it.
If it a helmet doesn't feel comfortable- you aren't going to wear it- so try it before you part with money.

I have the Impulse model and its the same as the Intercept except with one extra vent hole, more you pay, the more vent holes you will have, they are more expensive bcz they are harder to make.A $200 helmet has no more protection than a $20 one.
