Thule Insta-Gater bike rack..
Does anyone have one of these for their truck?
I just got a truck and i usuallly bike with several people. I was thinking of getting one of these and mounting a bike in it and then using our U-Locks to tie 3 more bikes to the bike that is in the Thule. Will it be sturdy enough for this purpose? AT 130 bucks i dont want to buy 2 of them.
Any thoughts?

I have two of them and they are great; very convenient and secures the bike well. You should have no problem securing another bike or two.

cool
that woudl be a heck of a lot cheaper.
Were you able to fit it north of the wheel wells? This might be my answer. I have a tacoma and if i could just drop one of these in up near the cab i could be all set. Put some eye hooks for bungies to hold the bikes to the rack and drive away.

buy a couple of the fork mounts. They sell for 20 bucks each at my LBS. You can then screw them into a 2x4 cut to length to fit in the bed of the truck. Instant bike rack.

im trying to avoid having to remove the front wheel. with a truck that just adds a hassle. If i had a SUV or wagon id be all over that idea. With a truck id rather just throw them in and go.
