you guys are crazy! I thought mt biking was hard enough, but you take a unicycle off road too?!

maybe, Muni is fun and can be really radical. It is also reletively save, because you are not charging around at 20mph fall (which are frequent) are not normally harmful. That is until you start doing trials! yes trials, against bikes.... those things on 2 wheels. Hunt out Kris Homes and see what he is up to! incredible.

Put the largest tyre that can fit between your frame. Downhill tyres come as big as 3.0, these are superb, although rarely fit in unicycle frames, 2.6 is good though. Remember all your weight is in a single wheel so if you can increase your footprint on the ground you will be more stable, have better grip and it is more comfortable.
