bike helmet adjustment difficulty

this may be an irrelevant observation, or maybe it's just me. I have a Bell influx and I remember the bike helmet instruction says something in the spirit of: "always adjust the fit of the helmet everytime AFTER you put the helmet on"

However I find it extremely hard to put my fingers into the tiny buckle of the neck strap (or is it called chin strap?) to adjust the tightness even BEFORE I put the helmet on, not to mention AFTER I put the helmet on.

Is this how it's supposed to work? Given there are hundreds of helmets out there, do all helmets use the same buckle system at the neck/chin strap (which I find very non-user-friendly to adjust)? I thought it would be a no-brainer, say, to use a velcro system at the neck/chin strap so one can REALLY adjust the fitness everytime he/she wears the helmet. Does any manufacturer offer any alternative strap design that's easier to use?

Or, do I misunderstand something here?

IMO the chin strap adjustment should not change between wearings. You should only need to adjust it once and it should stay adjusted. It certainly does on my Giro helmets, also owned by Bell.

If the adjustment is changing then adjust the strap length correctly then sew the straps together so they cannot change adjustment.
