Flying with a bike
Hey all.
I'm planning a trip out to Oregon in about 6 weeks and I really want to take my bike out with me. I am planning to fly out, and am struggling to come up with any good ways to get my bike out there. Bike boxes, like this (https://www.wcfanshop.com/servlet/the...ox,-ABS/Detail) are way out of my current price range. Any suggestions on alternative transport methods?

Cardboard boxes (and I recommend the cardboard Madone box) work well.

Damn, I was expecting anecdotes about attaching wings to your bike Wright Bros style. Now THAT would be a thread. Thanks for the info, though--will be flying (on a plane) with my bike soon also.
