Saddle Height Question

hi all, i recently ajusted my saddle height in accordance with a popular fit calculator, i raised my saddle a few CMs. when i first tried it out i noticed that on every down stroke there was a strange feeling in my legs, maybe a strech or something im not sure, after a minute it went away anyway. I noticed that when im out of the saddle and coming back down to the saddle there is no drop and its just like sliding myself backwards, is this normal or should it be slightly lower?

If it feels good, keep it that at that height.

Ah, I've had issues with the on and off with a seat height that is spot on. I always have had a lot less flex in my groin than many (most) others. By a big margin! I seem to have to lean the bike WAY over to clear the seat... especially getting off. Yeah, I've been working on stretching it out, I'm getting better, but I doubt at this point I can get much more stretch down there. I feel like a doofus getting on and off consequently!

HALF right.

No hip-rocking, correct; leg straight -- WRONG.

Sit on the bike.
One pedal down, pretty much 'in-line' with the seat tube. Heel on pedal.
If your knee is fully extended, you're good. This gives you a slight bend in the knee when you put the ball of your foot on the pedal.
You should BARELY be able to touch the toes of one foot to the ground when on the saddle.

As far as fore-and-aft measurement, when the pedal is pointing straight forward, the knee should be above the pedal. Close enough. After all, you're not racing for the national championship.
