I hate driving to work...(warning, bloody pics)
Second *WARNING*, bloody picture at the bottom of this post.

I opened up my leg/knee when I was rock climbing 5 days ago, and am really missing riding my bike to work. I didn't do the damage on the climbs, its was a careless mistake walking from one climb to the next at a crag.

I feel more tired during the day and have to take a nap when I get home. I don't have to do that when I ride the bike. That stimulation is needed, its like a drug, a drug that's good for you.

Did I mention I drive a tractor-trailer for a living? Average 265 miles a day, I just want my 25-40miles of my own time, powered by me.

The thing that twists the screw even more is that I just finished my SS/FG conversion, and only had one commute with it before this happened.

Anyways, I think I'll be able to ride this next week. Nothing important got hit, very lucky the knee cap got no damage, just a NASTY flesh wound. Only half of the stitches are outside, there are about 5 inside too. The lady that was cleaning it out was shocked my the amount of rocks that were in there, took about 10 minutes to clean out. Had to be about a tablespoons worth. She kept saying, "WOW, there are so many rocks in here!!"

I guess I've been hard on my body, you'll notice a scar right above the wound, in the stitched up pic. I think that's from when I was ~10yrs old, sliding on my knees on a carpet and went over a nail head that wasn't fully sunk into the floor.

Keep your knees and the rest of you body safe out there. :)

Now that your *knee* has been shaved, are you going to complete the job? ;)

Looks like a nice clean repair job.

ouch. i did similar damage, although not as big/bad as yours, on my road bike when i first got it. i layed it out and landed in some oyster shells and such. nice fillet about where yours is.

Ouch, shells could cause some good damage.

I'm not fast enough to shave my legs. ;) Also I need that coat for the up coming winter.

That is ugly... should've worn your KNEE pads.

i wish I had some on. Though I have hiked hundreds of miles and never had a cut like this. Also, the shoes I was wearing are like none I have bought before, not lace up. These shoes. The tread is really shallow too. Stupid mistake that won't be happening again.

More importantly I really miss riding, I want to ride this weekend. But I don't want to put back the healing, by tearing a stitch. Also, no rock climbing, thats my other love.
