Hi fellow Roadies,

Jusy looking for any info on a Litespeed Titanium frame that came out around 2000. It was sold at Colorado Cyclist as their "Team Issue" frameset or a complete bike. It was painted black, yellow and red.

What I am after is this:

- was it just their 'classic' frame at that time repainted?
- is the tubing butted or straight guage?
- pro/cons on the frame?

The "Team Issue" frame from CC was essentially a Classic frame with the addition of an ovalized downtube and the multicolor paint job. As for the tubes being butted or straight gauge, I'm not sure but assume if the Classic had butted tubes this one would also.

It should be a pretty nice frame if the condition is good and it fits you. When CC sold those frame off, they let them go pretty cheap from what I remember. Something like 1200 for frame/fork combos.

I was inquiring about this frame a couple of months ago. I called both Litespeed and Colorado Cyclist and both confirmed that the Team Issue fell in between the Classic and the Tuscany. A very good frame from what I heard.

An equivalent bike from Douglas has been in several recent flyers from Colorado
Cyclist. Prices were less than most US Ti frames. IIRC Ti tubing is usually straight
gage not butted. Butting is mostly done in lugged steel frames. Steve

But aren't all of the new Litespeeds butted? On their website they state they use 'various thicknesses' for tubing. I guess they mean straight guage of one thickness on one tube but straight guage of another thickness on another tube of a frame.
One last thing.....did Litespeed actually make these frames at their factory? and am I safe to assume the lifetime warranty covers this frame too?
