Anyone here using this one?

as some of you know, i've been searching for a hitch receiver, which ended up buying the hidden hitch for my civic. now, i need a hitch rack.. and saw some post about the sportworks mod, which is nice, but now that i saw this one: PerformanceŽ XPORT Flatbed 2 Bike Hitch Rack and i'm wondering if anyone here is sporting it on their car. i have a 1 1/4" receiver, and this one has the adapter included as well. would like to know if anyone here has it or has any problems with it.

i thought finding a hitch rack will be easy.. but not i'm not so sure.. was going to go with yakima kingpin 2 but heard it wobbles and scratchs up the bike. thule one has problems with the craddles slipping causing the bikes to crunch together. sigh~ what to do? i want to be able to find a bike rack that is good and something i can buy it out of state and save money on the tax and shipping. do you think that is asking too much?

:( rui

Give a look to eTrailer and see what you think. I bought one of the 4 bike racks with capacity to still pull a trailer from them and am happy with it. The one I bought is made by Hidden Hitch, but I see they have some others as well, including one that seems to be the same as you are looking at if you are wanting the wheel mount. Just some options.

Mine has the V shaped bike grooves and the scew down top like this one, well actually it looks exactly like that one but mine has Hidden Hitch branding on it, I bought it a couple of years ago. The bikes can sway front to back, but they can't move any close to each other. The rubber padding for the Vs is so far holding up well, even though mine has been stored outside (but under cover). The screw downs are kind of a pain, but there are holes for a long shank lock. Combined with a locking hitch pin, the bikes are as secure as the vehicle is.
I did tie-wrap some inner tube rubber to the upright piece in case of the bikes swaying forward into it. Some similar thinking would protect them from each other, but the top tubes are secure, they aren't going to slide into each other.

No worries! Glad you found something that you will be happy with. :) I needed to carry 4 bikes, and I neede to be able to pull a trailer (boat or camper) at the same time, so my options were limited.

ruirui - did you get a chance to try out the rack yet? I'm planning on heading over to the local Performance shop this weekend, and that's on the list.

mocella... i wish i could say yes i've tried it. but the fact is.. it's still in North Carolina... i ordered it online last friday 7/30 and didn't get processed till Monday 8/2 and was finally shipped on Wednesday 8/4 and i won't get it till Wed. 8/11. so in essence.. u will actually be able to try it out before me.. lol. so sad huh?

i'm their first time buyer from their website.. and i have to say.. i probably won't buy from them again. i gotta pay tax regardless since i'm in cali.. so for the rest of the parts, i just buy from my lbs (the off ramp - santa clara). ;)

well, if you want to wait till next wednesday, i'll let you know how it goes when i get it. or u can let me know how you like it if you buy it this weekend. thank~
