I picked "He's a selfish b*stard" just because I thought it was funny, but I really think he'll be back. How can he leave his family? Who else would have him?

I can't seem to vote on the poll, something about invalid session...

I think the real reason for Chris leaving is that he's secretly a train spotter, and has only just admitted it to himself.

But yeah...it sucks!

You hit the nail right on the head Kevin , I could'nt agree more ! , I could put a VERY long list of adjectives here explaining a few things......but ....I could not be bothered .... I would'nt be surprised if , once again he's just "trolling" for sympathy and kind words in his departure, well I'm not gonna blow smoke up his a$$ , I'll put it in Australian : " geez that fella is a bloody fair dinkum wanker !!".....

Haven't been here long enough to vote.

Fubar
Fair Dinkum if I have it right is "true" or real as in
"he is a true j**k off"
which is what a wanker is.....

I'm generally inclined to give other cyclists the benefit of the doubt [this is, incidentally, a courtesy that I refuse to extent to motorists]. Chris has other things to do and, judging from his post count, he tends to get drawn in here more than he would like. With the new job, etc., he may simply not have the time to spend with us. Sometimes, discipline equals denial and I think that's the case here.

Too bad. I like the guy and I though he contributed a great deal to the community. I hope he'll be back, but it's a big world out there.

I voted "it sucks" but I can see perfectly well how a person would have to leave, if he/she has any other life that amounts to anything. It just takes too long to view all the posts I want to view--that's the main reason I stopped coming here for quite a while. I was spending over two hours a day on this. I am now back to spending far longer than I want to, again.

So I sympathize completely with somebody who has the courage to quit.

So there.

As I generally liked Chris's posts the best of any, maybe his absence will help me cut down on my visits.

I said "he's lying".
Seems like he did this once before and then snuck back in here a short time later.

BTW: Is snuck a real word or am I spelling it incorrectly?

I don't think he's a little ape crying wolf just because he was able unexpectedly to get back into the forums--he thought for a while he was going to lose Internet access, but it turned out otherwise.

"Snuck" is a perfectly good colloquial English word, the kind I particularly like because it makes me feel like I'm REALLY speaking or writing English. Kind of like the toy in the bottom of the cereal box....

The kilometers Chris puts in on the bike are enormous, like his post count.

Now that he's gone, maybe BikeForums will run faster and I can get to bed before 3 am.

I voted, "He'll be back."

At least, that's my wager.

(Imagine, suggesting Chris was a wimp!)

I figure he's got a new girlfriend and dumped us for her. Soon she'll have him driving a car and parking his bike. Then after she has got him good and messed up she'll dump him and he'll be back.
That's my theory!
