Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
Awesome! Hopefully someone who speaks Chinese can clear up the dialogue (either that, or is there more to the story posted elsewhere?).

The news narration is a description of the event with praise for the cyclist. The only additional details not obvious from the footage are that the time is just after 6am; the man in the black trench coat who approaches the robbers near the end of the video is a hotel security guard; the would be robbers were apprehended; the cyclist rode off afterwards and they don't know who he is. Throughout the segment he is refered to as "the man".

I was impressed with the speed with which he reacts, it seems he stops and gets off the bike as soon as he sees the snatch take place. Thats an assumption , but reasonable. I've thought of doing something similar, but i might hesitate at throwing several hundred dollars at someone, unlike the $40 his bike probably cost.
Even so, if the incident involves violence, I'm aiming for the throat!
