Spin Bike Recs
Ok guys.
I live in Australia and I am after a quality Spin bike. I have shortlisted my choice to these 4 commerical units for SPIN Bikes that are available in Australia...... (1) HEALTHSTREAM COMMERCIAL SPIN BIKE - FCC15SBN http://www.fitnesschoice.com.au/shop/sc ... ProdID=739 (2) Vortec AV900 http://www.fitnessmarket.com.au/shop/pr ... ctid=16397 (3) Maxx Pro Spin Bike http://www.gymquipfitness.com/docs/deta ... ogueID=609 (4) Lemond Revmaster Pro http://lemondfitness.com.au/product/5/RevMaster+Pro I weigh 102kg atm and I am 6'2". I aim to weigh 85kg and build muscle around my knees. Key criteria - quietness, ergonomic, heavy duty flywheel, 17.5" crank, freewheeling hub and quality bearings. It would be fantastic if you could provide your thoughts and recommendations please. Ago Velox. |
I can't speak to Lemond's Revmaster Pro model that you linked to, but I use the Revmaster Classic at my spin class. It's very quiet, and has solid construction. I'm 5'11" and 220 lbs, and can adjust it to be very comfortable. And there are guys significantly taller/bigger than me in the class that seem to have no issues with the bike. If I were looking to buy a spin bike for home, I wouldn't hesitate to go with a LeMond based on my use at the gym.
From the website, it looks like the Pro model you're looking at is an upgraded version of the now-unavailable Classic. EDIT to add: Welcome to the forum! |
Many thanks Steve.
I keep hearing too many good things about the Lemond and have probably made my mind up now - You have sealed it. One question - the handlebars look odd and uncomfortable on these units. Your thoughts on these handlebars and whether they can be changed out? Ago Velox |

Ago Velox EDIT TO ADD: Gave the handlebar mount a good look last night; I don't think there would be any easy way to swap out the handlebars for something else. But give the stock handlebars a try, they're more comfortable than they might look. |
