Looking for another jacket

I have been using my Mountain Hardware Alchemy lately for when I'm on the bike. And it works great for when it is chilly out. But, there are times when the temp is high enough that the Alchemy is too warm, but without it I'm too cold. Sometimes it is a simple windchill that gets to me. So I'd like some recommendations on what I should be looking for, that will be cooler than the Alchemy, yet block the wind well enough to keep me from getting cold.

For the price of an alchemy, you might want to look at Rapha or Giordana.

I have a multidude of top coats. Some top quality and expensive and some more basic and cheaper. Depends on the weather but if it is going to warm up I have a couple that get used more. One is a "Pertex" and the only property this has is that it is windproof. Keep the wind out and you stay warmer. The advantage it has is that it wraps up into a fist size ball to stuff in the rear pocket when it has to come off. I also have a waterproof that is very light and wraps up small. It still breathes and being waterproof- it is also windproof. Then there a couple of coats that are warmer- and pack into their own pouch when not being worn and go round the waist.

But The "Winter" jackets are not lightweight- do not pack up small and just get unzipped if the temp goes up.

I always wear " layers " of clothing. I was a "walking mailman " for many years & it worked best for me. Top layer is always a " windbreaker " type jacket. Flannel shirts, long underwear, sweaters, etc, make up the rest.

it doesn't take much to block wind. almost any windbreaker will do. I use a cycling specific day-glo hi-vis lime-green convertible jacket with zip-off arms. I bought a Canari from Dick's Sporting Goods. I bought it on sale. I like it a lot. I think this is it:
