Do I have the right size bike?

I just got a used road bike frame, it's a 46 cm I believe. I'm 5'4", would that be too small for me? Research tells me I should be riding a 50 cm. Thanks.

It is impossible to tell without photos. Even then it would only be a guess.

Bikes: I never learned to ride a bike. It is my deepest shame.

My wife is 5'3" and rides a 43.

However, this means exactly JACK SQUAT! Every bike is measured differently and every person has different proportions. No way to tell unless we see you on the bike.

How does it feel when you ride it? How much standover room over the top tube do you have. Do you feel squished or stretched when you're riding it?

If the answers are a) good, b) 1-2.5 inches and c) no, you're fine.

If it's just a frame, it's gonna be hard to tell.

Top tube length is the critical measurement- not seat tube. You can raise a saddle with a longer seat post- and you can extend the length with a longer bar stem.

I am 5'6" with a 30" inseam. I like a top tube length of 53.5cms. but my first road bike was on the short side. Adapted it to fit me but that was compact frame that covered from 46 to 51cm. I Now ride a 51.

Attachment is of the bike that is too small for me- or is it?
