A virgin no more
Had my first crash today. My own dumb fault of course. On the mup, 3 ladies walking side by side taking up the whole thing and instead of slowing and calling left I decide to pass on the dirt to their right and badaboom, down I go when my tires lip the edge of the path getting back on.
Bike's OK, just a bit of scraping on the left pedal. One good thing was I learned that my spd's are adjusted properly 'cause my cleats popped right out on impact.
I definitely learned my lesson on passing today. Oh, here's the price of my stupidity:

Lost Again
Ouch. Glad it wasn't worse. Watch out on that knee, I did a little bump like that once, turned out to mess something up and now I get water on my knee sometimes.
Last week I did a wipe out on a little of snow. Fortunately I landed in a drift. Didn't break anything but stretched and compressed a lot of stuff. I felt stupid.

So, tell us more about the 3 ladies who were walking side-by-side. Were they good looking?

Mid 50's housefraus, nothing special. Sweet though, they asked if I was OK but I was so mad at myself and embarrassed for splattering me and my bike all over the path that I mumbled something about being fine and quickly rode off. There was a hottie walking her dog about a quarter mile behind who I'm very happy didn't see my spastic tumble.

Done the off-road circle off the MUP, but since I ride MTB all the time, handling the transition back has never been an issue.
I tend not to be very forgiving of MUP-hogs. If I call more than once-twice, usually pretty loudly, and they don't move, they get cussed. As I ride by.

Well, congratulations. Now somebody needs to show you the secret handshake!
Seriously, I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Been there, Kenbone, and done that - without the injury, though.
I and another crash with lots of injury, and found out my bike shop was right. You really do unclip when you crash. So far, I've only tested the theory once. Hope you have the same kind of luck from now on.
