Helmet suggestions
Getting my first helmet for road riding, and there are TONS out there. I'll be using the helmet for commuting, training, and a Century in Spring. Any suggestions on helmets would be awesome!

Get one that matches the colour of your bike or your favorite jersey. For road riding a visor will interfere with your vision. More expensive ones will probably have better ventilation.

I use a mtb helmet (Giro E2) with visor for road riding with a road bike and the visor does not get in the way of vision at all even when in drops, even if it did it could be tilted up out of the way or removed. I find the visor very helpful to cut down on glare on my sunglasses, which improves vision, so I keep it on regardless of what bike I am riding.
I think its more of a style thing - roadies want minimal roadie helmets, mtbikers want mtb helmets ,with visors helping some for mud/rain.

I was looking at the Giro Encinal...my only question here is the UNIOVERSAL fit as opposed to the actual sized helmets. The UNI seems a little large looking as opposed to the fit ones. Anyone have an opinion on the UNI? It seems like a good helmet for the $ 21 vents and all...

Ah, you must have clicked my link.
My Encinal adjusted so nicely to my GF's head that she bought one too. I'm Medium-ish, and she's Small-ish. I have no comment about looks - if I look like I'm protected, I'm happy. So far, the longest I've spent under it is 4 hours, and it's as good a fit as I've ever had in a helmet.
