Can a caliper brake be added to this bike?

Can a caliper brake be added to this bike?
My wife has only ridden coaster brakes so naturally that's what she opted to buy. Is there a way to mount a caliper brake to this bike so she can practice?

Yes.... on the front fork only. Looks like the fender is mounted to the typical fork crown hole which will take a caliper brake. I believe the only commonly available ones are the Dia-Compe Bulldogs.

You may have to go without the front fender.

No. The worst case scenario is cutting little pieces off the sides of the fender so that the brake arms can clear past. Even then, it may be possible to leave the fender intact if it will flex enough to be squeezed by the brake arms. This is a trivial job... if the LBS mechanic can't do it, find a better LBS.
