Brake pad compatibility?

I have a single-pivot side-pull calliper brake, the type you find on old (or in my case, cheap) bikes. I need new brake pads for them, and I was wondering which types of brake pads (v-brake, canti, road, etc) will be compatible with my brakes.
On a side note, I have non-machined rims, so if that changes things, I just thought I'd let you know

Thanks in advance!
