Bike thief destroyed

Not sure if it's real or a set-up, but I like it!

Can't be real. Posting that is admittance and can get someone in really big trouble.

Seem like the POS low life got what he deserved, he even tried to pull a knife. To bad they were not real bullets instead of paintball guns.

They're making a big thing about bait cars around here, I have often wondered why they don't do something similar with bait bikes.

And while I am not condoning this video, assuming it's genuine, who hasn't felt like doing this to the jerk that ripped of your bike?

One reason I keep my bike inside at night, plus I'm not into to staying up on a cold snowy night waiting for somebody to steal one.

Love it. More legally defensible than breaking his limbs, too.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Also, good luck IDing any of them. They were very good at making sure there wasn't any facial exposure sufficient to ID them, and if they uploaded via a coffeeshop public WiFi with a fake name/email address account, they
're untraceable.

Sure looked like a student film. Too many camera angles for ENG.

I thought I saw bait bikes on a "Cops" episode in NYC years ago .

sneaking around with paintball guns that look real is a great way to get shot. dumbasses.

i saw a great bait bike on the news in Chicago a few years back. they installed a lowjack or some kind of GPS on it and were able to follow the guy out of the city and all the way to his apartment, where he jumped out of the window and was caught on foot. it was awesome.

I think bikes aren't worth enough $$$ to spend the time to catch thieves, unfortunately. When my bike was stolen, the cops said "it's probably already been parted out, it's gone. what do you want us to do?"

have you all seen the neistat brothers 'bike thief' video?

Years back I saw a bait video done by the Toronto Police Department. An undercover left a bike by a fence and then started to walk away. A thief walked right up and grabbed the bike right behind his back. The UC was no more than 10 feet away! OMG!! This was I believe in the early days of crack cocaine.

Way too many camera angles for this to be anything else than a staged bit of acting.

Original CCTV might be legit, but everything else is IMHO fake.

Funny though....

Could've been legit with enough camcorders, decent editing skills, and run-of-the-mill software. They had several stakeout positions anyway.
