I'm assuming it's not exclusively for folders, so I'm moving this from Folding Bikes to General.

Surely it should be possible to post this on the Folding Bike section too, I don't check out the general section. Several of our regular foldies do these runs every year and it's good to get a reminder as I plan to get there one of these years.

Excuse me, but to me the concept of riding naked on one's bike seems completely idiotic.
If it's a bit chilly, one could get a cold.
If one would fall, one could be more seriously hurt than with clothes on.
Sitting butnaked on a sadle? Sounds like a sweaty and uncomfy idea to me.
No thanks.
Protest?
You don't seriously think general folk will abandon their cars and start riding bikes because some weird people ride their bikes naked, do you?
Au contraire: general people will, through this action, associate biking and bikes with weird naked protesters.
Again: no thanks.

Apparently there is a naked bike ride here in Madison this month. I'm waiting for the arrest numbers.

Happens every year in Vancouver, BC; sometimes more than once/year as naked protest is a bit of a tradition. No arrests as far as I know. There is no law here that equates nudity with indecency, so, technically, being naked is perfectly legal.

It's a fun day out! The naked part is partly to catch the attention, and partly to point out that cyclists are vulnerable. It's become about body acceptance too. In the UK, it doesn't cause horror and consternation, people cheer and it's fun. No arrests, since it's not technically illegal to be naked, and anyway, police permission is given. You don't have to be crazy to be naked - everyone has a body, and to date, nobody has been killed or seriously injured by seeing a naked person. Lighten up and ride naked!

The WNBR happens every year. This year it is June 10th. The main website lists like 70 something cities.
Their motto: Stop Indecent Exposure to Cars.

they had one in philly recently. none of the philadelphians I want to see naked were there, judging from the pics that were all over the web afterwards.
I think it's terrorism. what is SEEN, can not be UNSEEN.

Eh... some people will do anything to get attention. The problem is, the ones willing to ride naked are precisely the ones I'd rather NOT SEE naked!

I don't get why some of you guys are so offended by people riding naked. It's really not a big deal; sure, I wouldn't do it, and there'll probably be more skin than I'd ask to see of some of the riders, but it's just the human body after all.
