People here really should ask what the original poster wants out of whatever they're looking for before throwing out their favorite whatevers.

what's your budget? bibs or shorts? |
I bought a pair of performance gel shorts and I like them a lot! I don't wear my older trek ones at all anymore. Love the gel in the chamois.

how much padding do you want? what's your budget? bibs or shorts? I've also checked out a pair of Descente classic pro bib shorts which seemed amazing, but when I ordered them they were out of stock in my size. They went for about the same price as the above mentioned Camapnolo ones. As far as the campy's go the chamois is a little thinner than some other shorts I looked at, but I liked it. The fabric also seems a little more cotteny than typical lycra shorts and it's quite comfortable and very form fitting. |

If the poster knew what he wanted, he would've specified the criteria. He didn't, so I think it's fair to assume he doesn't know... the questions to ask.

This shop had several last time I was in there and they do mail order, so maybe call 'em -- http://ridewrc.com/ -- they sell 'em at retail ($90?). Performance also has the Aero version, which I think is very similar ($130?), plus ya can use that 20% off code. |
$90 is not a bad price so I may look into it, but at that price I've seen the Aero-X version for $109 so it might be worth it to just get those. Thanks for the heads up.

I never thought I'd find myself paying more than $100 for bike shorts, but I bit the bullet and got some Pearl Izumi Microsensor bibs a few weeks ago.
http://www.pearlizumi.com/pearlizumi...uct/0121-1.jpg I paid $135 and also had a $10 off coupon for Performance. Anyway, they are - bar none - the best shorts I've ever worn. Incredibly comfortable (on the bike - not as much off the bike), durable and well designed. Other shorts "work" just fine, but the increase in comfort with these Pearls is worth the extra price for me. I plan to purchase another pair very soon... |
