Squeak When Turning Handlebars

I am getting ready to take my new Trek District on its maiden voyage. I notice that when I turn the handle bars I get a creaking/squeaking sound. The LBS flipped the stem for me the night I bought it so is there a possibility the headset was over-tightened? It seems to turn easy enough though...
