I used to use a long articulated chain ending in a tubular key lock; similar but not the same as Cobralinks (which I believe is for motorcycles). After reading about this, and joining this excellent forum, I was at a loss about what to do. I stopped commuting by bike but that wasn't going to work in the long run. So after checking out their website, and after seeing them go out on a limb to protect all their customers, I bought the NYC 3000, a flat key U lock weighing under four pounds. This lock should not suffer from the tubular key/BIC problem but I also hope it is one of the safest locks there is. Finally, Krypto has a special to extend their warranty on their website. I will do this too.

Thank you Krypto but also thank you BikeForums.

Regards,
