Where to buy tires?
Where is the best place to buy road bike tires? I would like to purchase some Continental Ultra Sport Road Tires and would like to know who offers the best price and customer service. Thanks! Jim

I'm on the mailing list for probikekit. They often run amazing deals. I got some Contis for a very nice price....and no shipping charges from the UK either! I'd say they're about 30% better than I could have gotten elsewhere.
The only downside was that my credit card company freaks when I order from over there as they think my card was stolen. So - as soon as I hit the buy button, my phone starts ringing.

Conti Ultra Sports are entry level road tires. If you're buying them online the price with shipping may be the same or more than buying them at a bike shop.

I agree. I am sure you have been there looking at those tires several times already. or are you one of those people who only use the shop as a living catalog and the buy off line after wasting their time

I've been using the Conti Ultra 2000 tires because they offer an acceptable grip and last a long time. Since they no longer produce the 2000 series the next best is the Ultra Sports. I'm not rich so I buy what I can afford, so a long lasting tire that's not used for racing or hard duty fulfills my needs perfectly. Is there another tire for the same price that is comparable to the Conti?
