I am looking for a PC bicycle computer for my bicycle?

I am looking for a new Pentium 4 bicycle computer running Windows XP, this computer must be water proof, and must go on the internet on my Bicycle. I have been to many Bicycle web pages and can't find a NEW PC bicycle Computer anyware online.

Thanks,

Blue Triforce

dude, just get a toshiba toughbook. It's not bike spcific, but what your asking for is possibly not even on the market yet.

There was also a maker from long ago called carrion. I remember thse as a kid, the psycho that ran the computer shop my dad went to sold them...he would close one, and hit it 20 times with a sledgehammer, and then open it up and it booted fine, an the screen/everything worked. Great machines, waterproof, etc...just the guy selling them was scarier than all let out....they were also $10k.

Expect to pay at least $2k for a decent waterproof PC. Also look around for industrial noteboks, those are far beefier than the toughbook, but are even more costly...sorry but water-resistance/proofing comes at a heavy cost.

More like 4-6k for a decent waterproof PC.
The Panasonic toughbook series is relatively cheap for the performance.

i don't see the point in a water proof laptop. just get a water proof panier like the one from vaude. unless your planning to drink some coke whilst computing and biking all at the same time, it would probably be best to get a water proof panier.

Wouldn't it be easier to water proof a PDA and make a handlebar mount for it?

As Slvoid said: there is only one tough notebook and thats the Panasonic toughbook series, and it's relatively cheap considering what your getting. This computer is almost indestructable. It was originally designed for desert warfare when the military needed a computer that could survive a hostile environment when their current ones at the time were failing like crazy...out of that pursuit the Panasonic Toughbook was born.

Is it me or does anyone else get the image of this fool typing away on AIM on his wifi enabled laptop in the rain while he's blazing down the road at 20mph on his bike and slamming into a tree?

This guys a ....unintelligent monkey on speed.

1) How the fudge do you mount a comp on your handlebars. You need a vid card which by itself requires quite a bit of space.
2) Are you gonna take your eyes off the trail, take your stylus/mouse out, plug it in and start searching?

Doode, wtf were you thinking?!?!? Seriously,

1) Such technology does not exist. If it did, you couldn't afford it.
2) How does windows xp get installed on a 2x2 cm harddrive? Would it be like BIOS?
3) Jeesus christ, wtf were you thinking (repeat this in your brain for 50x, then ...repeat it again).

Sorry, had to rant, never heard such a...unintellligent question in my life!!

You can buy a $300 MP3 player and rip the 4-5gig microdrive out of it and put XP on it. The drive is just about 2cm x 2cm.

Blue Triforce,
what is it exactly you want to do? If you want to keep detailed records of your workout on a PC; Polar has sophisticated software that will do just that. There is even a cellphone that will allow you to log your training or racing from anywhere in the world.
