Trouble sizing
Hey guys, I know these threads probably pop up a lot around here, but I'm having trouble sizing with bikes! I'm new to cycling and have been researching for the past two weeks on what is right for me. I decided to go an easy route and get a new SS, just to avoid driving out to LA to be disappointed by a craigslist posting as well as doing any upkeep on the bike that may be needed.
First off, I'm about 5'7.5, with a pants inseam of about 30-31.
I've been referred to being sized 52-54cm a lot. Even been told I should fit a 50cm. Now, I know ss/fixies and road bikes differ, and I've been getting mixed advice for both frame types.
As of now, I'm really fixed (no pun intended) on this Mercier Kilo TT Pro
https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...kilott_pro.htm
Scroll down to sizing info, and this is up:
Sizing: (c-c = center to center seat tube, c-t = center to top, TT = top tube c-c)
50cm (c-c) is 53cm(c-t) with TT of 523mm and standover of 30 inches
53cm (c-c) is 56cm(c-t) with TT of 548mm and standover of 31 inches
Since my inseam is about 30-31, I should at least have -1 for the standover on the bike right? 50cm seems right, but I've seen a 50cm fixie before and they look very small. But, with the research I've done, I'm positive a 53cm should fit me. I really could use experienced second opinons, though.
Thanks in advance to any help!

^Would sizing down one to a 53cm be fine? In reference to 55cm frames, my friend's 55cm Cannondale is a bit too tall for me.
