Homemade bike storage ideas.
With me still living at home, my bike stable (along with the other bikes of other family members) is adding up quite a bit. We tend to just lean them against random areas of the garage since we all tend to take care of them. I began to think about trying to subsidize the area these bikes sit in. I like the simplicity of these:
I started to think about ways I could make a long one of these without taking up too much room, yet being able to prop up the bikes by the rear wheel. This would simply be for storage in the garage so they're out of the way yet easily accessible. Having some experience in wood I figured a long but not-so-wide slab of 3/4" MDF on the ground would work with some upright slabs of the same bit. But I wasn't sure if that was the best route to go.
Has anybody else done something similar? I'm not looking to get hoists or something to "hang" the bikes around the garage. I just want a simple floor solution and preferably something that's either dirt cheap or relatively easy to create.

PVC would be really nice. The only catch is, due to the garage layout I was hoping to be able to mount the bikes on a pretty steep angle to save some space, since my brother's drum set is like... RIGHT there... sort of like these cars:
I could get pretty tricky with PVC and probably still pull that off, though...
