My marriage.

Seriously, sometimes it's hard to justify to someone who doesn't bike why you need so much time in the saddle...

I stretched my normal 75-80 into a 100 on Saturday and the marriage suffered suprisingly few ill effects, but it was in the back of my mind if I was in trouble for staying out an extra hour +.

Physically I had mild stiffness in my neck and shoulders, and the next day my calf was killing me from a knot- which my spouse kindly rubbed out.

What are the nether regions. I checked if you meant down there (I'm sorry but our education of geography in Toronto is TERRIBLE) but netherlands are UP there. So what do you mean?

everyone has nether regions. think geography of the body - not of the earth.

I have ridden a few centuries before on a MTB which leads to many other problems but...

My quads and neck seem to bother me the most, my neck because I have neck problems and the quads because I am trying to ride too fast on a MTB. I am getting better though. Will be interesting once I get on a road bike how I answer..,

Of course I didn't get any responses the first time I posted this, so I'll give it another shot ...

For those of you with feet problems, try this

Im not sure if its as much hurt as it is tired.once you get off the bike,it all becomes like the pink floyd song "comfortably numb".Its at 99 miles when every thing hurts.Legs, back,legs,butt,legs,neck,legs,arm,legs...

Geneman..I will give Hincapie's method a try..Mostly, I just stop for about 10 minutes at about 75 miles and let the feet dangle for awhile ..All the grousing about pain..Does not last that long..Most effect...Tired overall and a 30 minute nap is in order.
The effect on my marriage...Most long rides are on my weekdays, while my wife is at work.. On Saturdays, my getting out of the house is a relief to my wife..That is the day she sleeps in late after getting up 4 am for five days..If not on the bike, I would be prowling about the house, waking her up..Lucky me.
