bpsf = dog magnet?

I have a bike planet super flash on my bike, but mostly ride mid afternoon so I don't turn it on. With the days getting shorter I have started turning it on when I remember to do so. Problem is on the days I have it on two dogs always seem to come out to chase me. But on the days that its turned off they are no where to be seen. So, does the strobe light emit a high frequency pitch that puts my canine neighbors in a foul mood or is this purely coincidence?
