Not a typical which bike (involves some geometry S/R)

I am going to test ride a Trek Madone H2 tomorrow... i am comparing it to a bike id like to order online. I need a tall bike with shorter reach. Usually something like a 64cm is good for my long (38.5") cycling inseam, but the reach ends up too long for me. When i size down, head tube lengths also go down, so my drop can end up 10cm+.

If i were to test ride this bike in 60 and 62cm, the 60cm has 1cm shorter stack than my bike i want to order, and the 62 has same stack, but 1cm more reach. I am thinking the 62 would be better to test ride because it's easier to mess with a shorter stem than worrying about spacer heights etc.

Or is this so close it shouldn't matter much. I am thinking i should go for the bike with the same stack, because if i ride 1cm back from the hoods, it could be nearly identical to the positioning id be on a bike with 1cm shorter reach right on the hoods

Going to take up an LBS's time so you can order a bike online? Such class.

Yes i am. Should i start charging people for advise they ask of me when they complain of aches and pains and i give them ideas of how to fix it? I mean, i spent MY money to learn that information.

It probably is a classless move, since i will be purchasing the groupset and wheels from them. Have purchased my wife's bike from them, 2 helmets, 3 pairs of shorts, 3 jerseys, 2 sets of gloves, 2 sets of lights, 2 computers, 1 set eggbeaters, cycling shoes.... should i add up all of the nickel and dime stuff i have purchased from them too? Did you ever test drive a car and NOT buy it?
