Buying new bike, Help me decide?

Buying new bike, Help me decide?
So I have been around the local bike stores and here's the two that I like and would like you guys to help me pick one of the two.
One is a Specialized Hardrock sport disc that I'm getting for $560(taxes incl.) https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/...cname=Mountain
And the other is a fuji tahoe 19" model
No link because I couldn't find this model listed on fuji's website, perhaps it is something they discontinued.
The man at the store said its original price is $700 but he can sell it to me for $500.
It had a type of brake/shifter lever that I am not used to. The brake lever and the gear levers are integrated and while the brakes are front back, the gear shifting requires me to move it up/down. Do you guys have experience with this kind of shifters?

That Fuji you were shown was the 2006 Fuji Tahoe: https://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/B...ahoe&Type=bike
It is the only model year in which Fuji equipped the Tahoe with the Dual-Control Deore levers. All the other years the Tahoe was equipped with separate brake levers and rapid-fire shifters.
Rather than have separate brake levers and rapid fire shifters, the Dual-Control Deore levers try to eliminate the thumb shifter on the rapid-fire setup by integrating it with the brake lever instead, so instead of using your thumb to upshift to a bigger chainring (left side) or downshift to a smaller cassette sprocket (right side), you use the brake lever to do those shifts instead. That does seem like a very awkward setup.
I guess the sales guy was trying to unload that bike because it's been sitting in inventory for such a long time, and for good reason-- Seems the dual-control-style levers are not real popular.

Thanks for that! It really helps. 
Could someone who's used those share their experience with them? When I test rode the bike the left side gear shifter wasn't working perfectly. I pointed that out to the owner and instead of fixing it for the test ride, he shrugged it off saying "our mechanic at the other store location can fix that for you"
