Stem Angles

I'm interested in purchasing a new VO Stem for my bike, and I was having trouble deciding between the 17 degree and 6 degree stems.

The difference between them would be that the 6 degree stem would make my handlebars higher up, right? So it would just be a matter of comfort?

Thanks for the help.

Opposite. 17 degree would give you a higher handlebar.

Unless you flip it. But it'd be weird to have a -17 degree stem.

Not really. Since the head tube slants backwards, a -17 degree stem will be roughly parallel with the road. It's a quite popular choice among us Retro Grouches.

Any pics of the 17 setup?

given 73 degree head angle is 17 degrees off vertical, so a 17 degree stem is horizontal
in 'angled down' installation,

or 107 degrees

90 degree stem[zero angle] mounts up 17 degrees, and a 6 degree stem is at 23 degrees

or 11 ..
