I'm about 95% decided on getting another road bike. No, I'm not getting rid of the Litespeed.
I'm considering the Cannondale CAAD8 5 and the Felt F75. I've never owned a Cannondale or a Felt. What are your thoughts?

I have a 2008 F-85 and a 2008 Cannondale T-1.

The Cannondale offerers a triple.

My choice Cannondale triple. White with Red.
The CD might give a better ride?

Oooo, I like the white/red. I didn't see the color choice. I thought it only came in black.

Besides N+1, what's your motivation?

I love my 1996 Litespeed Classic, especially for long rides. But there are times when the only thing that'll scratch the itch is my crit bike.

So are you looking for something to complement the Tuscany, or something that's distinctly different? And if different, different in what ways?

Are you looking to race? If so, I'm told the CAADs are the next best thing to a sponsored ride. Even Mavic Neutral Support uses CAADs, at least at the races where I've seen them. (Although the geo looks to me more along the lines of a stage racer than a crit bike.)

I don't know enough about the Felt to have an opinion.

After looking at the Cannondale I looked at the CAAD 10 5 (https://www.cannondale.com/usa/usaeng...-CAAD-10-5-105).
I love my Tuscany. It is full Ultegra 9 speed (11-23) double (53/39). I'm just looking for a slightly different ride. The Felt and C'dale are aluminum with a compact crank. Although I'm also peeking at the CF models with either 105 or SRAM.
I want to keep the price under $2000.

I went to the bike shop today. Was going to look at a Felt F75 and a Cannondale CAAD 10 5. The sales guy said Felt has been having problems with their forks so they had no F series bikes in stock and were told that none would be available until February. The same dealer was a Cannondale dealer until about a year ago. They dropped the dealership after Cannondale was bought by Dorel and they learned what the future would be for Cannondale. So a Cannondale didn't come home with me.
My wife said "get a nice one" when I left home. So since I hadn't found a bike at that point I decided to raise my sights so asked about a CF bike. The sales guy showed me a Felt Z6 and a few other bikes. Still no magic. So a Felt didn't come home with me.
Then we moved on to Specialized bikes. I thought they would be way out of the price range I had set. The sales guy pulled down a Roubaix something that was way too expensive. Then he pulled down a Tarmac Elite with SRAM Apex components and Mavic CXP22 wheels. I looked at it. He explained how the Apex shifters worked. VERY INTERESTING. Then I took it for a short test ride.
I'm not sure what happened next but somehow it ended up on my trunk rack and followed me home. Every time I looked in the rear view mirror, there it was.
As you can see I haven't even gotten around to removing the reflectors.


Sorry but I don't have a white garage door. In fact, I don't even have a garage.

yikes, flip that stem. Otherwise, sweet bike!

I had pretty much decided on the Felt F75 but got frustrated that none were available anywhere and nobody had answers (including our regional Felt rep) Then I happened upon a shop that had a 2010 F5 leftover. Picked that up for the same price as the F75 would have been and love it. New bikes are fun.

I've had several people tell me to flip the stem. I probably will but want to give the bike a few rides and get used to how it rides and feels in the $%#& cold temperatures.

the reflectors probably threw off the auto exposure compensation.

Seems better but you are the one riding it. But bars that low work for me aswell. Only problem I had was a bit of neck ache but even that went after a few rides.

C.F.---You probably know it but Aerosol Furniture polish like Pledge works a treat to get the shine on it- and add some protection against Dirt and mud caking on.

Standalone 

I'd have to keep the ste angled up myself, but congrats on the new bike! A litespeed AND a specialized? You're certainly blessed!
