Lubricating/Cleaning - How Often?
I just stopped by REI at lunch and picked up a pair of Pearl Izumi gloves and as I was browsing through the cycling section, I noticed they had a bunch of different cleansers and lubricants (i.e. grease, etc.). I've never cleaned or lubed up our mountain bikes, but I want to make sure our road bikes stay in tip top shape. So, how often does everybody clean and lubricate their components?

[everybody is different] depends on conditions, like the Pros you can wipe dirt off the chain with a rag and solvent to get grit out of chain's oil,
after every days ride . [they have team mechanics to do that of course]
soap and water, bucket, brushes and sponges, clean off the dirt on the rest of the bike.
re lube , then park it.
Or you can just park it after the ride, till the dirt bothers you and do it then.
YMMV.
