Sunglasses

Preferences? Don't really care? What kind do you own?

I just stick with a cheapo off Amazon. Works quite well.

Edit: Well tbh, they're not the cheapo kinds you'd find at your local gas station, but eh, they still work.

I have been using these for several years. http://www.pksafety.com/uvgeblcl.html
They come in Espresso, Amber, and Clear.

Gotta have prescription sunglasses. Mine are Ray Ban.

Consider these fit overs since they will save you $$$$$ compared to Ray Ban or other prescription glasses.

I'm very happy with my 10 year old Bolle,
the rubber on the nose piece is crumbling a bit though.

I bought a pair of Tifosi Ventolux with polarized photochromic lenses today at REI. So far, I like! :)

I have a few different models of Oakleys. I used to use the cheap ones from performance bike but the rubber on the ear pieces slide around too much.

Target has the best Glance Armstrongs for $4.98 or less. Check the clearance racks in the jewelry department.

I have Middle-Aged Eyes and wear bifocal safety glasses (tinted and clear) from http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/safreadglas.html.
Cheap enough to not worry about replacing them when they get scratched.

Booger1 02-25-11 11:55 AM

Ray-Ban...are there some other kind?

dwellman 02-25-11 12:04 PM

Generic Perscription. . . they tried to screw me on the flash coating. Well, it came off eventually anyway.

+1, except non-XLJ, which I believe is just the lens shape. Love 'em.

I've been wearing tinted safety glasses lately. Had them at work and I'd actually bought them for Sporting Clays, not cycling. Not smoke lenses, just a light blue tint. I like the "no frame" construction because it doesn't obstruct my vision, and the light tint because it doesn't cloud my vision or flare up in direct sunlight. The were 6 or 8 bucks. Tried them out on the bike and really liked them.

I usually prefer amber lenses though. I'd broken the previous pair and haven't found a set I really like yet.
