Do you put cycling clothes in regular wash. how does it effect freshness.?
 

My wife hassles me over putting regular clothes in wash with my cycling clothes..Here in California, we need to watch how we use water, in this water short state.
So, when I get back from a ride, I wash whatever is in the hamper, to not waste the water on just such a little load..I do not like my cycling clothes sitting in the hamper , smelling up the closet..
So, tonight I sniffed a jacket I washed along with my cycling stuff. Maybe, I can smell a little of my last ride tonight. I do not like putting freshners in the washers to help coat up wicking fabrics.?
Do you think your cycling clothes in regular washes effects the overall wash in terms of freshness.?
Think I put more than adequate soap in the wash. ANyone else notice this problem..

not riding, but any form of great phsyical activity can be smelled on clothes if washed with a fragrance free detergent from my experience...like when I work on cars if I sweat an aboslute ton...the clothes don't smell as fresh as the shirt I wore out friday night ahdn then threw in the hamper...just my dime.

I wash my bike clothes in the bathroom sink using liquid hand soap. I let them soak while I shower, then wash, rinse, and hang them up in the shower to drip dry. It uses very little water, and only takes a couple of minutes. They smell great afterward.

There was one website that side to always wash your cycling jerseys by hand and to drip dry them.

That's what I do.
