Japan disaster: No electric, no gas, cars destroyed, bikes working fine.

It's a horrible thing that's happened in Japan, but people getting out on bikes makes me feel proud that I ride a lot and could deal without a car.

I wish them well.

People have been using bikes for transportation and utility in Japan for a lot of years, son.

And well it is, too; considering you might have to ride for miles to get water, food, and medical attention as well.

It's also remarkable how yet another cycling "advocate" has used the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to try push their case.

So what are you doing to help those in this ravaged country?

And in regards to you being proud that you are able ride a lot and deal without a car ~ Also be proud that you are PHYSICALLY able to ride while those who are dead or injured from the quake and water cannot.
