free to a good home
I can' t believe all the STUFF I come across just lying on the road anymore...tools, money, expensive sunglasses, and TUNES!
Just yesterday I saw a cd on the shoulder and checked it out and now I am the proud owner of a Bob Seger cd. Trouble is, I'm not really a fan. Tell ya what...first response I get will net someone some free Seger. (It's in amazingly good shape for having been lying in gravel) It's a live concert from Detroit, and the title is 'Live' Bullet. I know this isn't as good as someone you know winning the lotto and giving away 100 $ bills, but...:p :D Any takers? You can reach me thu the forum or at tenny@hamiltoncom.net. As a sidenote...what kind of freaky (and sometimes very cool) stuff have you found on the shoulder? |
The last thing that i found was a tape, but I cant remember who it was by.

Bob Seger.
Bleyyyuck!!! I can understand why that would be thrown away. |
mmmm....let's see...I have picked up a Van Halen (one from back in the Diamond Dave epoch, to boot. Had Hot For Teacher on it, so I gotta keep that one), a beat up Led Zep, a Mel Tillis which my FIL now has, and a much-abused Hank Williams,Jr. cd which I quickly forced off on a "friend". Lots of obscure others.
So are you a taker? It's yours if ya want it. Or maybe I should send it directly to Joe,along with a lotto ticket! |
Someday the gods will smile on me and I will come across a copy of Pat Boone's "In A Metal Mood"
;) |
I never seem to find anything good. Bob was the very first concert I ever went to way back in...... It should be a good CD.
:) |
Lisa: Enjoy Bob Saget.
Police Cheif Wiggum: Hehe. It's Bob Seger. [Checks tickets] Oh. Sorry, couldn't resist a little Simpsons. andy |
I'll add to the free to a good home pile: Alice in Chains "Dirt". Can't give it away, can't seem to toss it. Where are they now?

Last summer I was riding to the start of one of our Sunday morning club rides and I was a bit out in the country. My Speedplay cleat on the right shoe felt a bit loose (it is mounted with 4 Phillips-head machine screws). I thought to myself, "I wish I had a tiny Phillips screwdriver in my tool kit". But alas I did not. I kept riding, thinking that someone would have one at the park where we start the ride. I worried that my ride would be ruined part way with the cleat coming off and I'd end up calling for a ride home.
Within maybe 45 seconds to 1 minute after that thought crossed my mind, I glanced up ahead on the road and towards the center-line there was a practically new Sears Phillips-head, small sized screwdriver. It must have fallen off of some workman's truck. I almost fell off my bike in excitement. I stopped in the middle of the road and picked it up, shoved it in my jersey pocket and went on my merry way. I really thought I was in some sort of a movie or dream. No, It couldn't be true! Somebody must be tempting me or watching. Did someone (thing) read my mind? How is this possible? I guess fate reared it's hand and blessed me with a simple tool to make my life safer and easier;) Of course I used it to tighten the very loose screw and all was well in my little cycling world. I got to the ride on time and told my friends about it. They were as incredulous as I was. The screwdriver now holds a special place in amongst my bike tools. Strange but true! |
I once found a nice Estwing hammer in the middle of a laneway.
I try not to use it for bike maintenance, however. I also passed by a dead cat a week ago, but I had no room left in my backpack. |
Here in SW Missouri I see plenty of 'rubber-headed copper mocasins'. But they only bite if you run over them :-)

I have found 3 sizes of vise-grip pliers, wire cutters, numerous screwdrivers, and bungee cords in Toronto over 12 years. I also found a 24 case of beer - over half the bottles were broken, but I was able to fill up a pannier bag with the rest.
In Montreal I have found only a couple of screwdrivers over 18 years. I have found many single shoes - I always wonder how people can loose a shoe while travelling without noticing |
Last week i found some shoes. I tossed them on the nearest lawn, they didnt fit me :)
|
Gee, all I ever find is big hunks of hardware that fall off farm machinery....
...umless you count the pile of rain-soaked hardcore porn I once came across.... |
I once found a pair of channel-locks INSIDE the wall of a camper i was tearing apart. :D
|
I find alot of cars. I also found a bike and lighter, smokes, tools, and gloves r all common.
