Painting Raw Carbon Aerospoke

So I picked up a sub $200 raw carbon aerospoke and have a desire to paint it either gray or white. Would a swift hand and some spray paint w/ clear coat work or am i relegated to trying to find someone to do it. I'm in NYC but haven't come across a place that does that sort of thing.

I imagine the cost of a professional doing the job being about the same as if I sold this one and bought a pre-painted new one for $400 so I'm slightly torn. Any NYC people have a suggestion on local places that might do it for a worthwhile price?
