Brooks slender leather grips?

does anyone use the brooks slender leather grips? i am thinking of getting them for my bike and i would like to get some feedback about what others think of them (and it seems that there is none to be found at the vendor sites). i am mostly concerned that they will require lots of grip strength because they are thin and therefore would need a fairly clenched fist to have a good hold on them. it seems that over long distances this could become tiring. has anyone experienced this? they look awesome! i am keeping my fingers crossed that they are as comfortable as they are pretty. also, if you do have them, can i get a diameter measurement? the interwebs only has an inner diameter measurement, but i want to know how thick they are.
