It has been done and would might make sense for a custom-frame. It doesn't even seem like a big deal but, it isn't going to be cheap.
If replacing tubes in a lugged frame isn't cheap and the work has to be sent out to custom builder, it IS a BFD for the cyclist. That's why few cyclists would consider such work practical. Who's the dip?

You are still a dip. Now, you are saying something different than what you said at first.

What you said the second time was reasonable (and it repeated what I basically said earlier.)

It is clearly unusual and not practical for cheap frames (as I pointed out in #12) but it does happen.

Obviously, it does happen, since there are businesses that provide the service.

Here's another place that does the work.

As I said, Nobody (i.e. cyclists) replaces tubes; such work has to be farmed out to specialty shops. Sure there are custom shops that can do anything to a bike, that almost Nobody does because it is too impractical or costly or both.

I didn't think that was so difficult to comprehend, but you proved me wrong.

???? You are changing what you said again!! It's pretty freaking obvious that it has to be "farmed out" to specialty shops!

"Who" below is not clearly restricted to merely "cyclists". It's obvious that the "who" doing the work has to have the equipment and skill for brazing (and equally obvious that very few "cyclists" have that equipment or skill!).

You are wriggling out of what you said originally by saying "almost nobody"! So, you are not only a dip but a weasily one at that!

No, your bad communication is your problem.

What you said at first was dopey and unclear.

You did manage (finally) at communicating something that made sense (even if it repeated what other people said) but what you said is different than your silly first comment.

Perhaps the Pedant believes the possibility that he can send a bike to a far off craftsman for a tube replacement is some sort of reason to do so and therefore a credible reason to prefer lugged frames. I believe that advantage is so infinitesimal and useful to so few bicyclists that the obvious question arises - who does it and why bother?

But a nit picking Pedant can't be satisfied so this is my last comment on the subject.
