will anyone steal my brooks saddle?

i have a brown brooks saddle, right now it is pretty new so i take it with me with a quick release bolt everytime i lock my bike. now if i use it for a while the saddle will become worn and broken in and the side browns logo faded, then would anyone really want it anymore and will people steal it if i replace the quick release bolt with a normal bolt and not take the seat with me?

Possibly. I always lock my saddles. Not just because they're expensive, but because I sure as hell don't want to break in a new Brooks.

Only a thief can answer your question (it depends on what they need)

I wouldn't take the chance if it's expensive, but maybe a normal bolt is OK in a low crime area, and the saddle looks very worn.

It'd probably take a thief that knows what it is. Most people I know that aren't avid cyclists comment on how uncomfortable it looks with no padding.

I don't have a quick release on my seatpost. I cover my saddle with a plastic bag (hides what it is) when parking for an extended time. This also has the advantage of keeping it dry if it rains.

Anything can be stolen. Having a B-17 that I paid $70 for be stolen would be a nuisance. Have a wheel stolen would cost me more, yet I rarely lock the front wheel, and most of my bikes have quick released for the wheels.

Locking up the wheels and taking the seat will most likely keep a thief from stealing your bike.....unless he thinks it's a expensive brand. Some people will steal anything and everything.

It only takes one person in your area to know the value of a Brooks, and to want it either for themselves or to flog on eBay/Craigslist...
