New forum suggestion: HOW your bike was stolen?

Well I now think it's unnecessary. I just browsed the stolen bike web site and there are quite some stories. One guy was sitting inside cafe with his bike just outside the window inches from him, within sight, and he SAW someone jumped on it and rode away! I wonder why he didn't lock it, it being his 3rd loss in NYC.

Another's stolen bike was locked with Kryptonite U lock, so I wonder how the thief got it.

I had a fairly inexpensive mtb stored in a bike storage area outside of a hotel in Alaska. I figured it was fairly secure as they had a security camera looking down on the bikes. When I returned a day later to find my bike was missing the hotels manager informend me the camera was inop Live and learn

Sucks! OTOH, I doubt the thief knew better than you did.
