Which groupset to buy?

I'm new to the road scene and looking to build up a Giant TCR 1 frame with a groupset (have a budget of around $1,500). I found this article comparing some different brands like campy and shimano. It seems that they are really all pretty similar in quality. Anyone have suggestions or recommendations?

Contact Tom at GVHbikes.com. He can give you a great deal on a Shimano or SRAM groupset.

You will get a lot better deal on SRAM or Shimano. Campy tends to be a bit Pricy when your budget is $1500.00.

Ric11, I've put thousands of miles on Shimano groups ranging from 105 to D-A, with 105 a practical choice and Ultegra my usual preference. Quality across the manufacturers is fairly even with rabid fans of all three brands sure to bring lively debate.

Plenty of places on line where you can get highly discounted Group sets.

If racing on a budget-I would suggest Ultegra. Proven to be reliable- fairly light and a lot cheaper than Dure Ace.

With the £ being so poor against the $-Look at this site

But If speed is the main criteria- Then I would look at wheels and tyres for better performance per $.
