Problem - Solution.

Problem - Can't pick up dog anymore, back and neck problems.
A ramp made from any material that gets the dog up into the basket weighs
as much as the dog. Too heavy to lift and a pain to carry on a ride. I made a
few different ramps last year. All too heavy.

Solution - Lower entry height to basket, make shorter ramp.
A door in the back of the basket lowers the entry height.
The shorter new ramp is light enough for me to lift, and fits folded under the
basket for travel.

Why didn't I think of this last year? ~!@#$%^&*()_+_)*&^%$#@!

Awesome.

I have a problem with my hands and sometimes I can barely lift Buster into his basket.

He's lost the use of both of his back legs so a ramp wouldn't help us.

He loves bike rides and goes crazy if I leave on one of my bikes without him.

Now you need to rig up a treadmill that drives the rear wheels so Bailey can help with the riding...:D

Aaron :)

Sorry to hear about his legs and your hands. I bet he loves the trike. It must be the highlight of his day, not being able to walk around. I wonder how many dog-trike owners are on this forum? There are two or three others where I ride.

Yo 2many, had not spotted you and Bailey on the bike path lately. Glad you 2 are rolling again.

Dog caretaker...for some reason the old girl is afraid of bikes.

But! Will haul ass a 1/4 mile for a 100' ride on the golf cart :D

Aaron :)

Maybe pull next to a deck or porch for loading? Kind of like a loading dock?

Aaron :)

Thanks. :)

Bailey gets pretty hot if it's much over 70F. The new rig has only gone a few blocks. As soon as it is close to 70F we will be riding. I worry that I may have overheated him in past summer days

PS I got a new Fuji Feather from Art. http://fujibicycles.com/bike/details/feather
