Longest ride?
Hello
I've just been out for my longest ride yet as a relatively new cyclist, 51 miles. On my way, it got me wondering what some of your longest ever cycles are. I know my paltry 50 miles is a bit pants, but I'm interested to find out

Bikes: I have five of brikes
Longest day trip: I've done several centuries since getting back into cycling, but oddly, I've never really bothered to push myself beyond the 100 mile mark.
Longest tour: a 900 mile "Land's End to John O'Groats (LEJOG)" tour across Great Britain completed over the course of 13 days this past June (70 miles/day average).

My longest one day ride was 110 miles. From Gunnison, CO to Creede, CO. It included 12,000+ft high Slumgullion Pass after 60 miles. It wasn't a bad day, but I slept well that night!

Longest Day: the UMCA 24-hour Time Trial in 2006: https://www.machka.net/24hour/2006_UMCA24hour.htm
462.4 kms (287.3 miles)
Longest Event: any of the four 1200K randonnees I've completed: Rocky Mountain 1200 (2002), Paris-Brest-Paris (2003), Great Southern Randonnee (2004), and Last Chance (2005). I think the Paris-Brest-Paris was the longest at 1212 km or something like that. And for those unfamiliar with randonneuring, they are timed events, so for the 1200 km distance, the time limit is 90 hours including all breaks. I finished all of mine between 88 and 89.5 hours.
Longest Tour: 5000 km over 3 months in Australia in 2004.

Longest ride was about 85 fully-loaded miles 30 years ago in Maryland (?) on a trip from Atlanta to NH to Milwaukee with my wife. Coulda been a bit more or less than 85 - that was before computers.
Have ridden bunches of 50-65 mile rides in recent years.

Longest in length or time?
Length, 125. But a flat century may take 5:30 whereas a 114 mile ride like these centuries take me about 8 hours.

I'm happy with about 30 miles in a day. After that, I want a cigarette and some beer, and maybe a movie after I check my email.

Longest day: Wolverine 200 - 200 miles in 12 hours, which included a lunch and a nap. (Short night the night before.) I just barely made it within the allotted time. If they ever hold it again, I'm getting more sleep before the event so I don't fall asleep during!
Longest/most intense trip: Quint-Century DALMAC - 509 miles in 5 days.

My pesonal longest ride was 108 miles as I went to Augusta, GA and back. I took a few fast-food breaks and some restful time while sitting at the Augusta Riverwalk. However, I did my timing wrong and ended up having to ride the last 20 miles with no headlights on.
And I hurt like crazy the day afterwards

Gonna bump an old thread instead of starting a new one...
I just had my longest day on a bike:
240 miles in just under 21 hours total time (17.5 hours riding) on The DAMn (Day Across Minnesota). Mostly flat route on gravel roads starting at midnight in Gary, SD and arrived in Hager City, WI around 8:45 pm.
I honestly didn't have another mile left in my body at the end of this ride. I expect I could go a greater distance on a road bike on pavement, but I don't think I have more much more than 20 hours in my body.

Former Minnesotan here--how were the mosquitos?
Congratulations! That's quite a day's work.

The mosquitoes are doing very well
Lisa (AKA wife and support crew) suffered the bug bits waiting around at the checkpoints, I didn't stop long enough for the bugs to get to me ... and if they did bit me, I wan't noticing them.

Longest day ride was 114 miles with around 8,000 feet of climbing. Longest week was around 260 miles touring around Northern Vermont. I occasionally tell myself I'd like to beat my single day record, but it's not a terribly strong urge :-)

70 miles*. Been over the 100km mark a few times.
To be honest, my enjoyment limit is around 40-45 miles, anything over 55 miles, and I lose motivation, I have to be going somewhere on a schedule to willfully do more than that.
*actually 69 miles, but I round up because no one believes me when I tell them the truth.
