What's your favorite scene in the film "Bicycle Thief" ?
Mine is the morning commute where the main character and other cyclists pass the busses and the beautiful shot, silhouetted cyclists riding to work against the rising sun.

My favorite is all the men casually climbing on the bumper and othrwise hanging on the exterior of the overcrowded bus as if it's an every day occurance.
I also liked all of the poster "posters" casually bicycling down the street with a ladder over one shoulder and a bucket of water hanging from their handlebar. Makes me think that I did well in choosing what country to be born in. I'd be about the same age as the kid in the movie. |
I also like the scene at the flea market with all the shiny bike parts displayed. Resembled a jewelry store. The black and white intensifies the beauty of these bike parts. Mostly Campanola, no less.

Never heard of it nor seen it.

Just added it to my Netflix queue.

I've never seen the movie.
But if it's anything like the title it will be the part where they castrate him with plastic spork, tar and feather him and run him out of town on a split fence rail. I personally don't think the death penalty is effective. Oh, wait. This is supposed to be some charming movie about trial and redemption, isn't it? |
Slow death for a bike thief would be too humane.

Nice try! Actually, the film has more to do with the trauma of losing a bike by having a bicycle stolen. The thief only gets 10 seconds of film time!
... but I'd better not say more, for those who haven't seen it. |
