I have two. But I swear I'v seen around 11 on my rides. A lot of times the bungee will be lying on a scary area of roadway with speeding cars and limited maneuverability. So my chances of turning around and getting to it are limited. Don't want to risk my life for a stupid bungee! One of my bungee finds is very limited in stretch (maybe just 2 inches!). Anyway, no wonder this one fell off of a bike! Cheap thrills. Carry on!

Bungees are a risky item to have on one's bike in general. Nothing worse than a loose bungee wrapping itself in your rear wheel and causing a skid, worse yet a skid combined with a pop.

I prefer tools, but last year I picked up a dozen bungees, brand new in the package. I pick them up if they look good and have both hooks.
