Remembering the bikes our youth!
I had a Huffy five speed stingray when I was about 10 or 11. It had a sissybar, banana seat and special ram horn handlebars I put on them.It was the first "cool" bike I owned. I had a cruiser up that point and wanted something a little bit more style. I never did get caught up in the BMX styles that followed aterwards. As a adult,I owned a department store "cross" bike,a 12 speed Peugot. My last one I bought,I still have,a 1994 Raliegh USA mtb,my last "cool" bike! I'm 53 now,and still crazy about bikes,in all styles and shapes. I guess some of us will never grow up! How about you all? What kind of bikes have you owned growing up? What do you own now?

I had a 20" Redline BMX bike, with (I think) Redline 3-piece crank, Diacomp front handbrake, sunshine hubs, I think I had a "Tuff" wheel on the back with a roller brake, Pro-Neck, V-bars, pads, some kind of hard plastic saddle, can't remember the pedals, I think they were Oakley grips.
Hundreds of miles a month on that thing for at least 2-3 years of my early teens.
Rain or shine, good times were had.

I didn't have the first stingray on the block but I was the first with a stingray that had a springer frontend.

In 1960, my folks got me for a birthday - a 26" balloon tire beast from the western auto. Road that thing all around town for a decade.
Then 1971 I bought a Schwinn suburban with a 1x5 gearing - rode that through college, grad school and on into life. There was a short period of time in which I didn't ride much - somehow my sister got the schwinn and it got stolen.

I had a huffy single speed with coaster brake my mom got me at some garage sale. I skid all the time on that thing and rode it down these stairs at the apartment lol. I remember I popped the tire and my dad didn't want to replace it so I didn't have a bike for a while.
I can't remember what bike it was but it was seriously a piece of crap. shared it with my brother and rode it until the chain broke. stayed in the house for a while. My brother and I just leaned the bike against the wall and pretended it was an exercise bike lol.
Later my dad got me and my brother a Trek mountain bike. that thing was cool. handed it down to my cousins.
Now I just have a schwinn caliente.
