online bike journals?

I've always recorded my milage. First by hand, then excel, now I'm using an online bike journal.

Been using bikejournal.com but I was wondering if there are any other online bike journals besides this one?

If you'd prefer to store your ride data securely on your own computer (rather than someone else's), and be able to easily "slice and dice" your training history, you might find my CycliStats program useful. It's much faster and easier to use than web-based logs, and includes a bunch of built-in graphs and statistics. It also automatically estimates calories and watts for each ride, and allows you to track bicycle maintenance, and your personal health and cycling goals.

You can download a free, fully functional, 30-day trial version from the CycliStats web site.

I'd like to try that cyclistats program, but it's not mac-compatible. Anyone know of a os x cycling program?

I started to use both activebody and bikejournal, but didn't keep up with it.

Don't work on Linux either. Just Winblows.

Correct...it's a Windows program. I'm trying to make a living with it, so I targeted the really big market first. Also, I'm under the impression that most Linux users expect their software to be free, so that's not a very interesting market for me.

I've considered porting the program to a development environment that could support different platforms (Java, C++, etc.). But, it would be a huge undertaking, and would either require a "least common denominator" approach to features, or it would require that I program in all of those user interface features myself (greatly raising the cost of development). This might make sense if I was selling millions of copies, but cycling is a niche market that can't really justify that level of development effort.

But, this raises an interesting question...why is it that programs written for the most popular operating system in the world, can't run under Linux/Mac? People buy computers for what they can DO, and since most programs are written for Windows, you'd think it would be in the interest of Linux/Mac proponents to make their operating systems more "open" with respect to the programs they can run.
